The release says the lawmakers urged ED to "Clear the more than 550,000 application backlog of income-driven repayment applications" and identifies Ron Wyden as one of the members who joined in signing.
Business Insider reported that SAVE borrowers began receiving notices on July 1 to switch plans, that the transition would occur in waves, and that borrowers would remain in SAVE forbearance until new repayment-plan applications are processed.
