Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (FL-24) today introduced the Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act of 2026, legislation that would provide eligible Haitian nationals and their families with a pathway to lawful permanent resident status after years of living and working in the United States under temporary protections.
Assessments
The verified commitment is to provide adjustment of status for certain Haitian nationals. The only verified passage shows Wilson introduced legislation that would provide a pathway to lawful permanent resident status, which supports a material legislative effort but not enactment or achieved adjustment of status. Introducing a bill does not fulfill an outcome promise to provide the status adjustment, and no verified evidence shows the bill became law or otherwise delivered the outcome by 2026-09-23.
