Secure Free and Fair Elections; Stop Federalization of Elections
Evidence
"Rich believes in election integrity and making certain that every American can vote and it is impossible to cheat. In Congress, Rich will continue to fight against ALL attempts to federalize our elections... and improve election integrity."
McCormick said the SAVE Act is "a smart, targeted solution to enforce existing laws and protect the power of your vote" and that he "proudly voted to pass H.R. 22."
The bill status shows "Passed House" and the latest action as "Senate - 04/10/2025 Received in the Senate."
Assessments
McCormick promised to protect elections through election-integrity measures and opposition to federal control of elections. In office, he materially supported that agenda by voting for H.R. 22, the SAVE Act, which passed the House on April 10, 2025 and would require proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration. However, the bill's current official status is only Passed House, with latest action Received in the Senate on April 10, 2025; it has not become law. That is a serious same-term legislative attempt, but the promised election-protection outcome was not fully delivered.
