I will continue to fight for North Missouri’s farmers in Congress.
Continue to fight for North Missouri’s farmers in Congress.
Occurrences
Evidence
Chairman Sam Graves and Rep. David Rouzer led 147 Members in introducing a joint resolution under the Congressional Review Act to overturn the Biden Administration’s WOTUS rule, which the committee said would affect farmers, manufacturers, and landowners.
Graves introduced the Rails to Trails Landowner Rights Act and the Protecting Our Farmers from the Green New Deal Act, saying the bills were meant to strengthen landowner rights and stop federal land seizures affecting farmers.
Graves wrote that agriculture has a tremendous impact on North Missouri and that he is honored to play a role as a sixth-generation farmer and the Congressman for North Missouri; he also pointed to EPA action on WOTUS as great news for farmers, ranchers, home builders, and families.
Assessments
The promise was broad and effort-oriented: to continue fighting for North Missouri farmers in Congress. The evidence shows Graves continued public advocacy on agricultural issues, supported regulatory relief on WOTUS, and introduced or co-led farmer-focused legislation during the same term. Because the promised outcome was continued advocacy rather than enactment of a specific law or policy result, these actions fulfill the promise.
