By cutting waste, we can better maintain these programs that Americans rely on while also delivering on no tax on Social Security, no tax on tips, and no tax on overtime.
Van Drew will support delivering no tax on Social Security, no tax on tips, and no tax on overtime.

Evidence
The IRS says the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act was signed into law on July 4, 2025, as Public Law 119-21, and that it includes new deductions for "No tax on tips" and "No tax on overtime" effective for tax years 2025 through 2028. The same IRS page also says individuals age 65 and older may claim an additional $6,000 deduction, in addition to the existing senior standard deduction.
IRS Fact Sheet FS-2025-03 describes the new federal deductions created by the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act: a "No Tax on Tips" deduction, a "No Tax on Overtime" deduction, and an additional deduction for seniors age 65 and older. It states the tips and overtime provisions are effective for 2025 through 2028 and that the senior deduction is an additional $6,000 deduction, not an outright elimination of all tax on Social Security benefits.
Assessments
The enacted One Big Beautiful Bill Act created federal deductions for tips and overtime for tax years 2025 through 2028, satisfying those two parts of the promise during Van Drew's ongoing House term. The Social Security portion was not fully delivered: the law added a temporary senior deduction rather than eliminating federal tax on Social Security benefits. Because the promise bundled all three tax changes and only two were substantially enacted, the best outcome is partial rather than delivered.
