I will support efforts in Congress to promote healthcare reforms that lower premiums and overall healthcare costs, improve quality care, protect the doctor patient relationship, increase much needed transparency and create more choices for consumers of healthcare.
Support healthcare reforms in Congress that lower premiums and overall healthcare costs, improve quality of care, protect the doctor-patient relationship, increase transparency, and create more consumer choices.
Occurrences
Some specific solutions I support are: medical malpractice reform that stops frivolous lawsuits and provides patient safety
allowing individuals and small businesses to join to together to purchase group insurance plans like large businesses
allowing consumers to buy health insurance plans across state lines to increase competition and lower costs
and assurance that whatever we do, pre-existing conditions are covered.
Evidence
Sponsor: Rep. Bentz, Cliff [R-OR-2] (Introduced 09/04/2025). Latest Action: House - 09/04/2025 Referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. This bill has the status Introduced. Subject - Policy Area: Health.
Assessments
Bentz made a concrete same-term federal legislative attempt by sponsoring H.R.5133, the Patients' Right to Know Their Medication Act of 2025, a health transparency bill. However, the bill remains only introduced and referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, with no passage or enactment. That effort does not deliver the broader promised outcome of healthcare reforms that lower premiums and overall costs, improve care quality, protect the doctor-patient relationship, increase transparency, and expand consumer choice.
