That is why the final item of this plan is re-establishing the House Select Committee on Aging and making it permanent.
I will pursue re-establishing the House Select Committee on Aging and making it permanent.
Occurrences
Evidence
The resolution to create a Permanent Select Committee on Aging was introduced on February 23, 2024, and the text lists Rep. Gabe Amo among the original cosponsors.
The House rules manual shows the aging committee was removed from House rules after the 103d Congress, so it is not currently re-established.
Assessments
Amo materially pursued the promise in office by serving as an original cosponsor of H.Res.1029 in the 118th Congress, which would have established a Permanent Select Committee on Aging. But that resolution did not pass, and the House has not re-established the committee; the 119th Congress successor measure, H.Res.1013, was still only referred to Rules. This is a serious same-term legislative effort, not a delivered outcome.
