Assessments
As of June 12, 2026, the promise is only partly met. The Child Tax Credit is currently larger for tax year 2025, with the IRS listing it at up to $2,200 per qualifying child, so there has been some CTC expansion. But there is no comparable enacted expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit beyond ordinary annual inflation updates, and the available record here does not show Rep. Sykes personally sponsoring or materially advancing a successful law that expanded both credits. Using federal office context, that means the combined promise to expand both the EITC and CTC was not fully delivered; at most it earns partial credit, and the relevant policy movement occurred after her first House term, so timing is later_term.
