Assessments
Moore appears to have continued advocating for the Second Amendment during the term that began after the 2022 election. In February 2023, he publicly announced legislation to designate the AR-15 as the national gun, and his later issue statements say he introduced legislation to make the AR-15 the official rifle of the United States and would resist federal gun confiscation. That supports real follow-through on the Second Amendment portion of the promise in the same House term. But the promise was broader than one gun-rights stance: it also covered unspecified 'other rights and freedoms,' and the available record here does not show a comparable, clearly completed body of results across that wider bundle. There is also no clear evidence that Moore delivered a concrete enacted federal policy change on Second Amendment rights during the 2023-2025 term. That makes full delivery too strong, but more than no progress.
