I am open to finding a solution for dreamers, but only after Congress and the administration have secured the border.
Consider a solution for Dreamers only after Congress and the administration secure the border.

Evidence
In CPR's candidate questionnaire, Crank said border security was paramount, that nothing else on immigration was negotiable without it, and that he was open to a Dreamers solution only after Congress and the administration secured the border.
Public Law 119-1 requires DHS custody for certain inadmissible aliens charged with, arrested for, convicted of, or admitting specified offenses including burglary, theft, shoplifting, assaulting law enforcement, or crimes causing death or serious bodily injury.
Public Law 119-21 appropriated $46.55 billion for border infrastructure and wall systems, $4.1 billion for CBP personnel, $45 billion for ICE detention capacity, and $6.168 billion for border security technology and screening.
Crank's office said he voted for S. 2, the Secure America Act, to fully fund ICE and CBP through September 30, 2029, with $69.5 billion; Crank also stated that illegal crossings had fallen to record lows and characterized the border as highly secure.
Axios reported that CBP data showed illegal crossings in June 2025 fell to the lowest level ever recorded, including a 136-apprehension single-day low, while noting the border was not completely closed and thousands of noncitizens still entered through other channels.
The DIGNIDAD Act of 2025, H.R. 4393, was introduced in the 119th Congress as an immigration bill with Dream Act-related provisions and border-security components; available co-sponsor listings summarized there did not identify Crank as sponsor or co-sponsor.
Assessments
Crank materially supported the border-security precondition during his first House term, including voting for major ICE/CBP funding and benefiting from enacted border and immigration-enforcement measures. However, the promise was not just to strengthen the border; it conditioned later consideration of a Dreamers-only solution on border security. The evidence does not show that Crank sponsored, co-sponsored, or otherwise materially advanced a Dreamers-only solution after treating the border as substantially secured. That supports partial credit, not full delivery.
