The Senate cloture table, current through August 11, 2026, lists S.1383 as the legislative vehicle for the SAVE Act. On March 26, 2026, cloture on S.Amdt.4732 failed, 53-47, Vote No. 73, result F; earlier S.1383 SAVE Act cloture entries on March 21 also failed.

Onder lost the 2008 Republican primary for Missouri's 9th District, so he had no same-term federal office in which to deliver the promise. In later federal service, he took some aligned action by voting yea on House passage of S.1383, the SAVE Act vehicle, but the relevant election-security measures had not become law, and the separate 2026 executive order was issued by President Trump rather than delivered through Onder's own office.
